If you’re looking at adult martial arts classes in Spring you’ve likely come across Karate, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), and more. Karate, Taekwondo, and Muay Thai focus on striking (punches, kicks, knees, and elbows). Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu focuses on grappling (wrestling with locks and grabs). It’s important to know how to both strike and grapple for the best self-defense. In the real world, most fights end up on the ground. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the most effective style for protecting yourself and your loved ones when this happens.
Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructors are caring and attentive to every student’s concerns. Suffering from lower back pain, neck & shoulder pain, joint stiffness, or muscle weakness will likely not prevent you from having a fun, fulfilling class.
We’re not medical professionals, so any serious concerns should be discussed with your doctor first– but we are typically able to give you alternate exercises that don’t affect pre-existing injuries and honor your limits so you still have a great experience.
